The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health is a county health department located in Mason City, Iowa and serves all residents of Cerro Gordo County in north central Iowa. Currently we operate through 5 divisions providing programs and services like immunizations, healthy homes, environmental inspections, wellness programming, home care, tobacco use prevention & cessation, community data collection and analysis, emergency preparedness and disease investigation. To best meet the needs of the community, we build programming based on our community health needs assessment and health improvement plan, and have successfully structured the department around the 10 essential public health services. The use of community data and innovative departmental framework has enabled us to better serve the community with evidence-based practices, as well as, inspire community partners to progress into a future of supporting optimal health through the county and beyond.
