Hospice of the Midwest

About

Hospice of the Midwest provides exceptional in-home hospice care to Midwest regions, allowing patients to experience the final stages of life in a familiar and secure environment. We provide a full spectrum of hospice services specifically tailored to meet the individual needs and preferences of our patients and their families. Our professional staff members are experienced and compassionate individuals who work hard to deliver thoughtful and respectful end-of-life care that emphasizes living as fully and comfortably as possible.

Hospice touches many lives, including patients’ loved ones. Sometimes those caregivers and family members are moved to become hospice volunteers. Trained volunteers play a crucial role in our team approach to patient care. Some help families by running errands, preparing light meals or sitting with patients so that caregivers get a much-needed break. Some can offer specific professional or clerical skills, while others bring only a desire to serve. Hospice of the Midwest welcomes volunteers of all ages, faiths and backgrounds. The need is urgent, and the emotional and spiritual rewards can be profound.

Hospice of the Midwest volunteers provide support and care to individuals with a terminal illness and their families. Volunteers provide companionship and emotional support while respecting the individual’s rights to privacy and autonomy. The volunteer can provide care and comfort on a physical, emotional, social, and spiritual level. The volunteer can provide assistance with various tasks and can also provide much needed social interaction.
