Our Mission
The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides financial resources for youth development through 4-H.

Funding Opportunities for Iowa's Youth is the position statement we use to clarify how our mission gets accomplished. The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides funds for many of the opportunities – recognition, national 4-H trips, and scholarships and special programs– that allow young people to experience the benefits of 4-H. The opportunities we help fund for young people enhance their ability to use critical thinking, leadership, communication, and social skills – tools that will give them a competitive edge in their future endeavors.

The Iowa 4-H Foundation also provides financial assistance to help Iowa youth participate in 4-H experiences outside their county, like attending the State 4-H Youth Conference or staying at the Iowa 4-H Center.

The Iowa 4-H Foundation also gives overall support to the Iowa 4-H Youth Development Program, by funding volunteer recognition, marketing and public relations activities and the national 4-H alumni engagement project. The Iowa 4-H Foundation supports local fundraising efforts through its county 4-H endowment program.

We are a charitable 501(c)(3) organization with a volunteer governing board of up to 32 trustees and five full-time staff. Our office is located in the Extension 4-H Youth Building on the campus of Iowa State University.
