About
The intern will be working through the Community Connections for Public Health (CCPH) outreach
program that is managed within the Physical Activity and Health Promotion (PAHP) lab in the Department
of Kinesiology. The project will involve building and supporting the infrastructure for a community-based
the initiative aimed at helping communities engage in the Active People – Healthy Nation initiative launched
by the CDC. The long-term vision is provided on the attached page, but the focus of this specific
internship will be on building the capacity and programming strategies needed to effectively manage the
project. The project will provide opportunities to apply a range of skills and offer unique insights into
the overall coordination of public health programming. She will apply programming and communication skills
through social media, websites, email to promote engagement by organizations as well as individuals.
