About
The primary goal of the Ambassadors is to be a visible reminder to everyone on campus about the importance of the 4 pillars of Cyclones Care. Dependent on location, the ambassadors can stay at one spot in/near the building or roam around. It is important to not to create congestion and minimize contact.
Ambassadors will deploy two times a day for 40 minutes to provide coverage of most of the class change times during the week. Please sign up via: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4daca928a4f5c16-ambassador
When you are done with your shift, please complete a small survey that will ask you for the time and location of your shift, and your general observations regarding the 4 pillars of Cyclones Care.

What we are asking you to do:
- Remind students that face coverings are required by university policy and ask that they please put them on. Just your presence will help demonstrate the importance that ISU considers this action.
For those comfortable doing so, the following is the general approach if the person refuses to wear a face covering:
- If they state they don’t have face coverings, ask if they need one (if you have them to share), or indicate they are welcome to return when they have face coverings. Many vending machines also have face coverings available.
- If they argue, refuse or ignore you, indicate that it is required by university policy to have face coverings to use the service, and share that they will have to leave unless they comply.
- If they state they have some reason for not wearing them, ask for their name/s and number/s and share someone will contact them to discuss how to access services and/or what services are available with consideration of the university requirements. (It is highly unlikely that you will encounter a student who has an accommodation to where a face shield instead of a face covering.)
- If they simply refuse to comply and will not leave the building/service after you’ve engaged them, call 515-294-4428 (ISU PD business line) and share that a student is refusing to leave the building.
- If you feel comfortable asking for the student/s names or student ID’s you can do this, but the primary goal is to have them comply with the university policy or leave the space. We are not able to force students to identify themselves, so if you happen to encounter this situation, it is advisable to contact ISU PD.
